When is the BrickFlix Film Festival?

The dates for the 2012 festival are still being ironed out, but we're tentatively looking at the June timeframe.

What are the submission dates?

For the 2012 show, the window is June 13th 2011 - March 30 2012.

Is there a fee to submit to the BrickFlix Film Festival?

There are no submission fees for the BrickFlix Film Festival.

Can I submit more than one short?

Absolutely!  Only one submission form is needed.

What is required for submission to the Festival?

To process your application we need -

- Completed and signed application form (download above)

- Link to the short

Where do I send my completed submission package?

submissions@brickflix.org

Do I retain the rights to my film?

Yes.  Upon submission approval and acceptance, your short will be used during the BrickFlix screening and BrickMagic screenings (only the BrickFlix screening will be held in a theatre).  Excerpts of your short may be used in promotional material for the event.

What format should I submit my film?

All submissions should include a link to the highest quality of the short you could provide.  Preferred formats are *.mov or *.mp4.  If you really want to get on our good side, submit with the Quicktime Animation codec and uncompressed audio.  No flash or RealPlayer submissions can be accepted at this time.

Minimum resolution is 640x480.

Total running time should be five minutes or less.  If you need to run longer, please let us know.

I have music in my short, is that okay?

You must own all rights to the content of your film: visuals, music, and characters.  No copyrighted material is allowed.  Any submissions with copyrighted material will not be accepted.

Is there a minimum age for submittors?

Directors of all ages can submit their LEGO short to BrickFlix.  There are currently no age-specific categories (9-12, 15+, etc).

Will my entire credit sequence be run?

Lengthy credit sequences may be edited out and added to an overall credit roll at the end of the screening.  We will try to avoid this if it negatively impacts the film's presentation (i.e. if there is a stinger at the end of the credits).
