Contest time!

Welp, the first contest was a no show - I blame the aliens! Onward through the fog! Next year is 2012 - and we all know the world is supposed to end, or at least the Mayan chisel went dull and couldn't continue with 2013. Perfect time for an end of the world contest!

In ten minutes or less, give us your best end of the world animation. I'll be frank, there are bonus points to be had if it involves time machines and dinosaurs.

The Aliens are Coming!

Quick, look to the sky! The aliens are coming, the aliens are coming!

To kick off the 50th anniversary celebration of the Betty and Barney Hill abduction, BrickFlix is having a friendly little contest. Construct either an 'Alien Abduction' film, or an 'Alien Autopsy Gone Wrong' (use your imagination) film and submit it via the BrickFlix submission process with 'ALIEN CONTEST' as the subject line. On September 30th, we'll post links to all the films on the FaceBook page and the teeming masses will vote on them via the 'like' button!

No contest would be right without prizes!

The submission window for the 2012 festival is June 13, 2011 - March 30, 2012! As always, there are no fees for submitting, so feel free to drown the screening committee with screeners!

With the last of the director packages (well, last as of Friday - hopefully some more folks will come by to collect theirs) hitting the mail, BrickFlix 2011 is officially in the can.

BrickFlix 2012 is penciled in, but until the rest of the paperwork goes through, we're keeping the date somewhat close. The submission window will open in mid-June, so keep your eyes peeled!

May the fourth is here. DVD's are burned. Programs are printed. The countdown has begun. In 16 hours we'll be doing a screen and color test. In 17 the doors will be open. In 18, we'll be well into the program. A sincere thank you to the animators who made this possible. See you at the till.

I suddenly feel like Car 54, minus the wacky hijinks!

To the faithful, we are still on like Donkey Kong for this Wednesday. We were attempting to get things ironed out by the end of March, and then between technical difficulties and last minute changes, the inevitable happened and what we wanted got pushed back.

If you're our friend on Facebook, you can see the not-really-live-blog we've been keeping with the program. The current action plan is as follows -

Wednesday - BrickFlix

Thursday - Sun - BrickMagic

Monday - Send out letters to all who have submitted, with offers of dvd's of the shows, programs, and the popular and collectible BrickFlix tile

We're already hearing rumblings from our animators that they want in on this next year, so box office willing, we'll be back for year three.

Until then, we'll see you at the till.

Screener results to be delayed a week.

Ran into some technical difficulties that prevent things from working out *just* right this week, so we'll be back with the screener results the week of the 28th. Enjoy the Supermoon this weekend, and we'll catch you at the till!

With a little 'file -> close' action, the spreadsheet that houses all things BrickFlix is off to the screening committee! We're hoping to notify directors before the end of next week (that would be the 18th) - namely since BrickFlix HQ is going on vacation on the 19th! In the meantime, if you have any questions, hit us up - we'll float you an answer!
